IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT HOME INSPECTIONS IN IDAHO
The state of Idaho has no educational or licensing requirements for Home Inspectors, and no
standards stating what must be included in a Home Inspection. In Idaho, anyone can market
himself as a Home Inspector, and can choose what to inspect and what not to inspect.
As a Member of ASHI we are held to a higher standard, not for our benefit, but for yours. The
American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI) is the oldest and most widely recognized
non-profit professional association for independent home inspectors. ASHI's Standards of
Practice serve as the home inspector's performance guideline, and are universally recognized
and accepted by professional and government authorities. Additionally, ASHI's Code of Ethics
prohibits members from engaging in conflict of interest activities that may compromise their
objectivity.
To become a Member of ASHI, an Inspector must meet rigorous professional and technical
requirements. Once a Member, an Inspector must adhere to the Society's Standards of Practice
and Code of Ethics, and must obtain continuing education credits every year.
With True North Inspection Services, your home inspection will be performed by a qualified,
tested, and educated Inspector, and will be completed to the highest industry standards.
